Hi!
Last week I asked you to check your mental health. I received hundreds of answers (best community ever!) and a few people are reallydoing well but most people answered somewhere between “some good but mostly bad” and “just terrible.”
Now what?
Now I have two more questions:
- What is in your control?
- Which thing that is in your control actually improves your mental wellness?
As an adult, you already know some of the things within your control but let’s sum that up:
- Your attitude
- Your choices
- Your purpose
Take a minute now, please, and answer a more nuanced question:
What aspects of your attitude, your choices or your purpose actually make you feel more mentally well?
There’s no one right answer.
I’m not asking you to do the things you have been told you “should” do to feel better. I’m suggesting (and the research supports) using your own expertise in you. Think about your options for self-determination and pick something that reliably helps you. Choose that.
If you’re inclined, hit reply and tell me what you’re going to try. I’m really interested and I learn so much from you.
All my best,
Dr. G
