Hi!
We talked last week about the value of figuring out what our emotions are trying to tell us. So many of you reached back to me to say that this was a useful framework, and the conversations and examples have been great.
Yesterday I was back in studio – live and in person! – for my regular appearance on our local CBS morning show, and I was thrilled. And somewhat uncomfortable (damn that change). And excited. And also a little worried. Which got me thinking… what are my mixed feelings trying to tell me.
A basic truth of resilience (successfully navigating change) is the ability, the necessity, of experiencing more than one emotion at a time. It turns out our mixed emotions have something to teach us as well. I made this super short video about it while I was in the green room yesterday, I hope you’ll watch.
If you know someone else who is stuck in the discomfort of mixed emotions, they might find it useful too.
And if you’re still wondering what your smorgasbord of feelings are trying to tell you, shoot me an email. I’ll reply and we can toss it around together.
All my best,
Dr. G
